Books ‘R’ Us
Books are available by phone/fax order only, delivered to your house for Rp 5,000. They sell only children’s books and have a comprehensive catalogue which is divided into age groups and then types of books within each age group (e.g. touchy-feel books, first word books etc.), with a description of each book to make your selection easier. Neny speaks English and is very helpful. They supply some of the international schools. They will put you on their mailing list for the new catalogue. A shipment of books is received twice yearly, so it’s best to get in early to ensure you get your choice.

Rimba Baca Library - NEW LISTING Feb 2012
Do you miss going to the library with your children?
This library stocks mostly children’s books for ages 0-12 years old. Fiction, cookery, non-fiction, design etc.
Become a member for a small fee and borrow 5 books at a time.
5 day time limit lending period for children’s books, longer for others. There is a penalty for late returns.
There is a drawing and colouring area in the library too.

Paperback Bookstore
This is a small bookstore with a modest selection of books. The targeted age of children’s books range from board books to preteen. Many of the books involve activities – stickers, arts and crafts, counting, learning to read etc. There is also a craft session, geared toward 4-8 year olds, offered every Saturday and Sunday at 3pm. An added advantage to this bookstore is that parents can pick up a slightly used book for themselves and participate in the book buy back program. Also right next door to Zen Living!

As you walk in you will see the magazine rack on your right, which has a pretty decent selection of American parenting, pregnancy and baby titles. Pop to the back of the store to the Children’s section which is home to a limited range of story and activity books, plastic posters and some toys. Also inside is a cafe serving good coffee, delicious sandwiches and snacks.

Times the Bookstore
Excellent range of books for short attention spans and older children. Bedtime books, educational and activity box sets, Enid Blyton. Wall charts and books with tapes all within a great area to browse. Really good but not cheap.
