Staff HealthWhile living in Indonesia most of us are in the very fortunate position of having 'staff', often including drivers, gardeners, maids, nannies, and cooks. This is a fantastic luxury for most of us but it should be remembered that many illnesses rarely seen in the West remain common in Indonesia including Measles, Hepatitis and Tuberculosis. It is incumbent upon you to ensure that your staff are healthy. Many companies will have guidelines about staff employment and may offer some package to organise this. If not, then a physical examination, chest X-ray (to exclude TB) and basic blood tests should be considered before employment and annually thereafter. You may also want to discuss with your staff about getting them vaccinated against common illnesses e.g. Typhoid, Hepatitis A. The following clinics can arrange a complete package of tests; Global Assistance & Healthcare - Generous Sponsor of Family Guide to Jakarta Amethyst Package (Medical Check Up for Households) Other than the examinations in the package, Global Assistance Medical Centre also provides vaccinations.
