A community centre that has classes for all ages. CreativKids (Lego)

These centres are using the same lego education kits as they do at Lego Experience but CreativKids have a more structured program with classes starting at 3-5 year olds with the large construction Lego called Junior/Creativity Class and also Basic/Construction, Intermediate/Robotic and Advanced classes. Classes range from 60 - 90 minutes and you have to sign up for a course of lessons, this is not a drop in activity like Lego Experience. Chess

Circuz Play and Party
Kids learn chess with teachers from Gokomo Kids (www.gokomokids.com), an organization that develops chess talent. You can either join an ongoing class or if you have three children, they will start a new class. Price is Rp.600,000 for 2 months. Classes are held once a week for approximately 2 hours each. They hold periodic tournaments where kids get to rotate from table to table and play different opponents for 5 or 6 rounds. Really good practice!

La Petit Chef at Chezlely Culinary School
A cooking program designed for children aged 7-15 years old. The short-course program is Rp.200,000 per session for 7-12-year-olds. Meanwhile, the regular program is 10 weeks long for bigger kids aged 10-15 years (beginner, intermediate, advanced levels available). Yoga for Kids is offered through this well respected Bikram yoga studio. The instructor, Mony, is a highly trained yoga practitioner. It is an hour-long program centered around basic yoga positions. She also has a number of activities to get the kids involved, like letting them choose their favourite positions from illustrated cards and singing yoga-oriented songs at the end for the meditation component. My kids really enjoyed their experience. The parents wait outside the class but there are windows through which you can monitor what's happening. Other classes include pre-natal, hot yoga, Ashtanga, and power yoga.

All Saints Anglican Church
All Saints is an Anglican (Episcopalian/Protestant) church catering for members of the English speaking community in Jakarta. Anyone (from any church background - or none) is welcome to join us on Sundays.

Jess Harris (Youth and Children’s Worker) organises 'Fun in the Son' religious classes for children. It is a free, fun afterschool activity for 5-12 year olds from schools around PONDOK INDAH and KEMANG on Mondays from 2.30-3.30pm. Kids learn about the God of the Bible through singing, Bible stories, games, crafts, and more!

The activity is held in the Function Room at Hamptons Park – Jalan Terogong Raya, Pondok Indah (directly opposite the Kristal Hotel, and down the road from JIS).

CCD (Christian Catholic Doctrine) Classes for Children
At BIS or JIS you will find that CCD is usually run after school by mothers of children taking part in the group. Contact your school to find out who is the organizer. CCD groups from each school will liaise together. It does fill up quickly so make sure to sign-up early. The First Holy Communion service is held in May each year.

Julia Gabriel Centre
This centre offers a variety of extra-curricular programs for children ranging from 18 months through to teenagers. For children over 3, different courses such as speech, drama, and literacy are held. These are available in either English or Mandarin. Classes are held over four terms with the school year starting in July. Special needs children can be catered for.

Kumon
Kumon is a worldwide chain of coaching institutes that conducts classes for improved skills in Maths and English. It uses a series of worksheets to be done on a daily basis at a level most suited to a student’s ability. The ability is determined on the basis of a test put to the child at the time of enrolment.
